The Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia has granted an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to Umka Cardboard Mill. The permit confirms that our production facility operates in compliance with applicable national regulations and European Union standards, with a strong focus on environmental protection.
The IPPC permit covers all key aspects of plant operations and confirms Umka’s commitment to:
- air emission control,
- wastewater treatment,
- waste management,
- noise reduction,
- protection of soil and groundwater,
- energy efficiency,
- accident prevention and emergency response measures,
- continuous environmental monitoring and reporting.
By obtaining the IPPC permit, Umka Cardboard Mill confirms the consistent application of Best Available Techniques (BAT) throughout all production phases, efficient resource management, and the reduction of potential environmental impacts. Emissions and other environmental parameters are maintained within legally prescribed limits, contributing to the sustainable development of the industry in Serbia.
The IPPC permit is valid from 2025 to 2035 and requires ongoing monitoring and reporting, ensuring transparency and long-term responsible operations.
