Umka Cardboard mill has successfully completed the first part of the investment cycle in August this year, by installing the first phase of the deinking plant and the hard hot nip calendar.

The machine was successfully restarted and is currently in the tuning phase. The mill is expecting a gradual increase in capacity to reach 120 000t in 2018, in order to be able to satisfy continuously growing demand for its products.

In regard to quality, better management of the smoothness parameters is expected. Improvements will be mainly visible on the lower gsm and to lesser extent on higher gsm. Testing and fine tuning are planned in order to achieve the best balance between new possibilities and mechanical characteristics of the products.
